Macedonia's basketball national team opened the second phase of EuroBasket 2029 pre-qualifiers with a convincing away win over Austria in Vienna — final score 91:59.
Coach Josep Maria Berocal's squad dominated all 40 minutes of the match, setting the tone from the first quarter, which ended 30:14 in Macedonia's favor. By halftime the lead had grown to nineteen points (49:30), and after the third period the margin stretched to twenty-one (65:44).
A Triple-Double for Dimitrijević
The standout performer was Nenad Dimitrijević, who finished with a triple-double — 15 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists. Viktor Efremovski added 17 points, while Moses Wright, making his debut for the national team, finished with 12 points and 9 rebounds, just short of a double-double. Coach Berocal singled out the defense, holding the opponent to just 59 points against a team known for strong shooting.
Macedonia fielded a nearly complete roster for the first time in a while, missing only Andrej Jakimovski. The next Group F match is set for November 26, when the "red-and-yellow" host Cyprus at home, who also won their opening match of this phase.
