Stefan Spiroski Wins Top Awards at Ohrid Fest for Final Kire Kostov Composition
The singer won First Prize and Best Stage Performance for 'Duri Postojam,' the last song written by the late Macedonian composer.
Singer Stefan Spiroski won two significant awards at "Ohrid Fest — International Evening" — First Prize from the professional jury and the Award for Best Stage Performance, for his rendition of the song "Duri Postojam" ("As Long As I Exist").
The song carries special weight — it's the final composition by the great Macedonian composer Kire Kostov, with lyrics by Ognen Nedelkovski. Spiroski had been preparing it since before the composer's passing, and its premiere took place right on the festival stage in Ohrid.
An Honor and a Responsibility
"It was an enormous honor for me, but also a great responsibility to perform the final composition of such a great figure. The song carries special weight for me, and I'm happy the premiere happened right at Ohrid Fest," Spiroski said, extending special thanks to Ognen Nedelkovski, the lyricist, who he says gave the song its particular emotion.
For the best stage performance award, Spiroski credits Studio BAH from Struga. "I'm overjoyed and proud of both awards. Studio BAH from Struga made a huge contribution to the stage performance — together we made something I'm genuinely proud of. This is a big motivation for me, and I'm continuing to actively work on new music and projects," he added.
