Miljana Reljic Enters Top 10 of the World Taekwondo Ranking — the Only Macedonian Woman to Achieve This in an Olympic Sport
After a bronze medal at the Open World Championship in Taiwan and silver in Luxembourg, Reljic entered the top 10 of the world ranking in the under-62kg category, gathering points toward the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics qualification norm.
Macedonian taekwondo athlete Miljana Reljic has entered the top 10 of the world ranking in the under-62kg category, while on the Olympic ranking list in the under-57kg category she has climbed 17 positions to 22nd place. The Olympic list combines the two weight categories, resulting in a different placement compared with the open world rankings.
Reljic won a bronze medal at the Open Women's World Championship, G-4 category, in August 2026 in Taiwan, a medal that brought her crucial points for the September rankings. Her coach, Aleksandar Eftimov, described this as "key points on the path toward securing an A-norm for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games."
"Mila is the only Macedonian woman in the top 10 of the world ranking in an Olympic sport," Eftimov stressed, highlighting the achievement's historic significance. The coach announced that Reljic will compete in three tournaments this month — in Nis, Hamburg and Warsaw — where she aims to gather the remaining 16 points needed to maximize her Olympic ranking points.
