Radica Taskova Becomes a Serbian-Published Author: 'Scars That Speak' Continues Its Story in Belgrade
The poetry collection by Kratovo professor Radica Taskova, devoted to violence and women's silenced voices, has been translated and published in Serbian in Belgrade as 'Ožiljci koji govore,' with a review by Professor Venko Andonovski.
The poetry collection "Scars That Speak" by Radica Taskova, a professor of Macedonian language and literature from Kratovo, has been printed in Serbian in Belgrade under the title "Ožiljci koji govore," through the "Art" publishing house, with the involvement of Miodrag Jakšić. "As of today, I am also a Serbian author. A big wish has become reality," Taskova said about the new edition.
The collection is devoted to pain, domestic violence and women's silenced tears, aiming to give a voice to those who for years hid their pain behind a smile. "I want this book to be a voice for those who stayed silent for too long. Violence is not love, and every woman deserves respect, dignity, safety and freedom," the author says. The book carries a review by Professor Venko Andonovski, to whom Taskova extended special thanks.
Taskova continued thanking those who helped bring about the new edition — Milica Lilić, Miodrag Jakšić and the "Art" publishing house, her friend Stanko Prpić, as well as the professors at the "Blaže Koneski" Faculty of Philology in Skopje, where she trained as a writer. For the author, the Serbian edition isn't an ending but a continuation of a story that began in her native Kratovo and now has the chance to reach new readers beyond Macedonia's borders.
