Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced at a press conference that the Government will continue its strong support for development projects in Skopje, stating that by the end of the year the capital will receive new municipal equipment and electric buses. Mickoski praised Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski, noting that significant results have been achieved in just a few months on projects that had previously been completely stalled.
New Public Hygiene Equipment by the End of August
According to the Prime Minister, the tender for the new municipal equipment — trucks, tankers and street sweepers — has been completed, with a presentation of the equipment alongside the Transport Minister expected toward the end of August. The equipment will go not only to the City of Skopje but also to several other larger municipalities across the country, part of the Government's broader commitment to improving public hygiene nationwide.
Electric Buses Coming to the Streets Soon
Mickoski said the appeals process for the procurement of the new electric buses is currently underway, after which delivery to Skopje — and other municipalities across the country — will follow. The Prime Minister expressed his expectation that the process will be finalized soon, bringing a significant modernization to public transport in the capital.
The Prime Minister thanked Mayor Gjorgjievski, the councilors supporting his work, and everyone involved in implementing the projects in the City of Skopje. He stressed that the Government will continue supporting municipalities across the country in their development efforts.
