Reljić Exits in Quarterfinals as Macedonia's U20 Footballers Draw With Tunisia in Taranto
Day two of the Mediterranean Games brought a taekwondo quarterfinal exit for Milijana Reljić and a scoreless opening draw for Macedonia's U20 football team.
Day two of the Mediterranean Games in Taranto brought mixed results for the Macedonian delegation. Milijana Reljić's run at the Games ended with a quarterfinal loss in the -57kg category, falling in a bout that had kept her medal hopes alive.
In football, the U20 national team drew 0:0 against Tunisia in their opening group-stage match. Coach Aleksandar Tanevski's side fired eight shots at goal but couldn't find the net. Macedonia sits in Group A alongside Morocco and Turkey, with the match against Turkey set for Monday at 9 PM.
Competition Continues
With roughly ten days of competition remaining until the Games close on September 3, the 130-member delegation continues its campaign across the 19 sports it's competing in. Medal hopes remain alive — the biggest favorite is still Olympic medalist Dejan Georgievski in taekwondo, who has said that after silver and bronze in previous editions, he's aiming for gold this time.
