New Heat Wave Expected From September 6 as Warm Autumn Forecast Continues

Forecasters say this September in Macedonia will run warmer than the multi-year average, with a new heat wave expected to arrive around September 6, bringing temperatures back up to around 30 degrees and higher.

According to forecasts, this September could run 1 to 2 degrees warmer than the average for the month, continuing the pattern of extreme weather conditions that marked the country throughout summer.

A Brief Respite, Then Heat Again

While the first days of September bring some relief following recent storms, forecasters note it's temporary — the new wave expected around September 6 could once again push temperatures into the range that recently caused problems with rail service, water supply and elevated fire risk.

Residents are advised to follow updated forecasts over the coming days, given that longer-range weather models carry more uncertainty than short-term predictions.
