According to the State Statistical Office, Ohrid had 47,737 domestic and 34,763 foreign tourists in July; Ohrid accounts for about 37 percent of all tourists in the country that month.
Ohrid was visited by 82,500 tourists in July 2026: 47,737 domestic and 34,763 foreign, who made 372,816 overnight stays, according to State Statistical Office data. That is an average of about 4.5 nights per guest. Among foreigners the most come from Turkey (12,541), followed by Serbia (3,919), the Netherlands (2,428), Poland (1,945), Germany (1,394) and Bulgaria (1,136).
Nationwide, July had 223,711 tourists (96,293 domestic and 127,418 foreign) and 795,083 overnight stays. That means Ohrid alone accounts for about 37 percent of all tourists. In January–July the number of tourists in the country grew by 1.5 percent and overnight stays by 0.5 percent; domestic stays fell by 1.0 percent while foreign stays rose by 2.0 percent.
The local source calls the change from July 2025 a “noticeable increase” but gives no percentage for Ohrid, so we cannot say by how much. The figures show that Ohrid relies on domestic guests more than on foreign ones — a good but also risky basis for the season.
