Landau, Kallas, Stubb: Three New York Meetings, the Same Diplomatic Language, No New Figures
The only concrete outcome of the entire tour remains the antimony grant, announced back in March — not something new from New York.
Following the series of meetings in Washington and New York, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski also held an official meeting with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, joined by Assistant Secretary for Europe Brendan Harnahan and Deputy Assistant Secretary Daniel Lawton. The readout describes an "open and substantive conversation" and "deepening political and economic dialogue" — with no new, concrete agreements or figures beyond what was already known.
In remarks following his meetings with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and senior State Department officials, Mickoski recalled that "earlier this year" many agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed, citing cooperation in defence industry, energy and antimony extraction through DFC — all already known before this visit, not a new outcome of it.
The only genuinely new element from the entire tour, based on available information, remains the $5 million grant for the "Krstov Dol" antimony project, announced back in March and reconfirmed in Washington. The New York meetings — with Landau, with Kallas, with Finnish President Stubb — so far amount to exchanged statements about "strategic partnership" and "principled relations," with no new agreement, date or figure tied specifically to them.
