Mickoski After Meeting Kallas: "The EU Needs to Deliver Fast — From Words to Action"
In New York, the PM called for concrete steps like ending roaming among the six Balkan countries, warning of a return of 1990s-style regional tensions.
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, following a meeting in New York with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas that included representatives from across the Western Balkans, said the region needs "swift deliveries" from Brussels rather than just rhetoric.
"We need swift deliveries from the European Union — something that can be quickly delivered to ease the frustration," Mickoski said, calling for a shift from words to concrete action. As examples of such fast measures, he cited resolving issues with transport carriers and ending roaming charges among the six Balkan countries.
The prime minister also expressed concern about a resurgence of old regional tensions reminiscent of the 1990s, including disagreements between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as between Kosovo and Serbia.
