MAEI Delegation Pays Tribute Ahead of Independence Day
President Siljanovska-Davkova and Deputy PM Nikoloski delivered messages combining historical reflection with calls for continued development.
A delegation from the Macedonian Association for European Integration (MAEI) paid tribute at the fighters' monument in the village of Tuminec, whose founder is Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, ahead of Independence Day on September 8.
Such tributes at memorials are traditionally part of broader activities across the country in the days before the biggest state holiday, serving as a moment of reflection on the historical path to independence.
Messages Ahead of the Holiday
At the same time, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova said no one gave Macedonians their freedom as a gift, and therefore no one has the right to revise their history, while Deputy PM Nikoloski, speaking from Kruševo, stressed that the historical struggle for statehood continues today through development and investment.
Statements and events like these in the days before September 8 traditionally shape the tone of official celebrations, combining historical reflection with political messages about the country's future.
