2.7-Magnitude Earthquake in the Delchevo-Berovo Area, Felt in Pehchevo and Berovo
No damage or injuries reported. The intensity-III tremor was felt by residents of southeastern Macedonia.
An earthquake with a local Richter magnitude of 2.7 was felt yesterday at 14:29 in the southeastern part of the country, the Seismological Observatory at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Skopje said.
According to the observatory, the quake's epicentre was in the Delchevo-Berovo area, about 122 kilometres southeast of Skopje. It was felt most strongly by residents of Pehchevo, Berovo and surrounding areas, with an intensity of three degrees on the European Macroseismic Scale.
No damage or injuries were reported. The Delchevo-Berovo area occasionally registers weak to moderate tremors as part of seismic activity in the eastern part of the country.
