Klekovski in Berlin: German Firms, Macedonian Doctors in Germany and €50 Million — What Reaches the Patient?
At a forum in Berlin the health minister announced €50 million in digitalization and regional procurement of innovative medicines and met German companies, hospitals and Macedonian doctors; no signed agreement has been published.
Health Minister Sasho Klekovski took part on October 9 in a ministerial panel at the 9th German–Eastern European Health Forum in Berlin, a side event of the World Health Summit, alongside the health ministers of Georgia and Armenia. He announced €50 million in digitalization and regional procurement of innovative medicines.
The partners he mentioned are Siemens Healthineers (modernizing equipment and diagnostics), KPMG (reforms and digitalization), the Charité hospital (cooperation on treating children with cystic fibrosis, and training), Patrick Jeurissen, adviser to the Dutch health ministry (sustainable financing), and Falk Consulting (hospital restructuring). He also met the Eastern Committee of German Business, the German Health Alliance, DIHK and the Business Club Germany–North Macedonia.
The minister also met Macedonian doctors in Germany. Their association has nearly 500 members, and its chairman, Dr. Blasko Dimkovski, offered help transferring German knowledge through training and joint research. The reports we read contain no signed agreement, no amount of German investment and no source for the €50 million. The year 2031 appears only as the end of the digitalization strategy period according to Press24 (2027–2031), while Nova Makedonija wrote on September 21 about a 2026–2030 strategy — a discrepancy that needs clarifying.
