Five topics. The meeting considered five topics. The first is dementia and disability, meaning the protection of rights, supported decision-making, accessibility and the removal of everyday barriers.

The 2026 Yearbook. The second topic is the Alzheimer Europe Yearbook for 2026, with recommendations for funded national dementia strategies, clear responsibilities, measurable goals and accessible services for people with dementia and their families.

ENSURED. The third topic is the ENSURED project, which deals with the emotional impact of taking part in research consultations and the need for empathy and psychological support.

AI4HOPE and PREDICTOM. The fourth topic is AI4HOPE – Journey Companion, digital tools for preserving the life stories, wishes and needs of people with dementia, with privacy protection and responsible use of artificial intelligence. The fifth is PREDICTOM, with the ethical questions of early detection of cognitive decline and dementia: informed choice, expert interpretation of results and protection of personal data.

The Macedonian contribution. According to the report, her contribution was directed at respecting the dignity and wishes of people in all stages of dementia, and at the need for information, training, psychosocial support and respite from caring for family carers.

The point. As Vasilevska Danev writes, participation confirmed the importance of linking policy, research and personal experience for better care and quality of life. Her closing message is that the voice of people with dementia and their families should be part of every decision that affects them. The report is marked with the Institute for Alzheimer’s Disease and Neuroscience.
