Ana Stojanoska finishes 16th at Junior Eurovision with 57 points, Armenia wins with 202
North Macedonia was last among 16 countries, 5 points behind Albania, while Spain and France took second and third place.
Ana Stojanoska with the song “Idnata jas” finished the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2026 in Malta in 16th place, last among 16 countries, with 57 points. Armenia won with Naré and the song “BOO!” with 202 points, ahead of Spain with 184 and France with 165, according to Eurovoix.
North Macedonia was 5 points behind Albania in 15th place with 62, and behind Ireland and Portugal, who are 14th and 13th with 64 points each. Montenegro was 12th with 68, and Italy 11th with 87. That means the bottom of the table was very tight: from 12th to 16th place the gap was 11 points.
How was it voted? According to Eurovoix, the formula is 50 percent online voting and 50 percent professional juries. According to claims in Macedonian media, of the 57 points, 6 came from juries and 51 from the public. I did not find that split in Eurovoix, so we relay it with reservation.
Is this a drop compared with earlier years? North Macedonia has taken part in Junior Eurovision since 2003 and has never won, and its best placings are fifth places in 2007 and 2008. Last year Nela Mančeska was seventh among 18 countries, according to Wikipedia. That is a clear difference, but one result does not make a trend.
What can we say about the song? Before the contest the checked reports had no betting odds or jury assessments, and the result alone does not say why the public and juries voted as they did. We do not state reasons that are not confirmed. Possible factors, such as running order, language and staging, are not established.
What is not known? The full distribution of points by country is not known, nor which country gave North Macedonia the most. It is not known whether MRT will review its selection for next year. Nor is the plan for the next participation known.
What does it mean? Last place is a hard result, but the contest is for children. The most important thing is for Ana Stojanoska to go through the experience without pressure, and for MRT to assess its selection for next year.
