Haxhiu in Skopje on her first foreign visit: meetings with Gashi and Mickoski, two days after the call to Srdanović

October 26. Mickoski congratulated Ilija Srdanović of the Student List by phone after the elections in Serbia and said that good interstate relations will continue to develop. It was Skopje’s first regional contact after the vote in Belgrade.

October 27, meeting in the Assembly. The Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, Albulena Haxhiu, was on an official visit to Skopje, which, according to 360 Stepeni, she described as her first foreign visit since taking office. With Assembly Speaker Afrim Gashi she discussed cooperation between the two parliaments, a vision of a peaceful, stable and secure region integrated into Euro-Atlantic structures, and European integration. Both sides said cooperation should speed up the integration of the whole region, based on merit, criteria and consistent reforms.

Contacts between people. According to the same source, they also discussed contacts between citizens, young people, the academic community and business. Haxhiu thanked North Macedonia for its consistent support for Kosovo’s membership in multilateral and regional organisations and initiatives.

In a social media post after the meeting with Haxhiu, Mickoski wrote that open dialogue, mutual respect and stronger regional cooperation are conditions for the region’s progress. He added that he is convinced deeper cooperation between the two countries can contribute to greater stability, economic development and faster European integration.
