Kosovo Closes Its General Consulate in Struga
Services move to the embassy in Skopje. An honorary consul with his own office will remain in the city.
Kosovo's General Consulate in Struga was officially closed as of 22 September, the Kosovo embassy in Skopje announced. Consular services for Kosovo citizens across North Macedonia will now be provided by the embassy in Skopje.
According to the statement, the decision was made based on a decree from Kosovo's president, "following an assessment of the consular mission's dynamics," aimed at adapting and optimising diplomatic structures "in line with shared institutional goals and needs."
Kosovo's presence in Struga will not disappear entirely — it will continue through an honorary consul's office, with its own space in the city, responsible for the consular district. Specific reasons for the timing, or how many citizens used the Struga services annually, were not included in the official statement.
