Mickoski in Washington: Meetings With DFC, Tenney and Self on Investment and Strategic Partnership

Talks with the US development finance institution DFC and members of Congress focused on energy and technology.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, leading the government delegation on its working visit to the United States, held a series of meetings in Washington with representatives of US institutions, Congress and the business sector.

Among them was a meeting with Caroline Vik, chief policy officer and acting chief development officer at the US International Development Finance Corporation — DFC. The institution has an investment capacity of $205 billion and serves as a US tool for mobilising private capital in strategic sectors, with particular focus on energy, modern infrastructure and advanced technology.

The talks covered opportunities to deepen cooperation and potential investment in Macedonia across several areas, with emphasis on energy and high technology.

Mickoski also met Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, co-chair of the Macedonia Friendship Group in the US Congress, and Congressman Keith Self, chair of the Europe Subcommittee of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The talks stressed the importance of parliamentary cooperation and political dialogue between the two countries.

"The series of meetings in Washington continues our commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership with the US, and to turning it into concrete economic cooperation, new investment and projects of interest to our country," the government said.
