Hideo Kojima's "Physint" Moves From PlayStation to Xbox

After Sony canceled the project in June, the celebrated Japanese creator found a new home for the ambitious title.

Legendary Japanese game designer Hideo Kojima has confirmed that his new project "Physint" — an action-espionage title with Metal Gear-adjacent vibes — was canceled by PlayStation Studios back in June.

After a three-month search for a new partner, Kojima Productions signed a deal with Microsoft to continue developing the game under Xbox's banner. Development is ongoing.

Reigniting an Old Rivalry

The move has reignited the long-running rivalry between PlayStation and Xbox in the gaming world, with many fans seeing it as a sign that Microsoft is becoming a more attractive partner for ambitious creative projects.
