TESSA Energy Starts Cogeneration at Skopje North: 2.1 MW of Power and 2.6 MW of Heat
The investment is put at €2.5 million at the former heating plant, taken over in 2024.
TESSA Energy has commissioned new cogeneration units at the former Skopje North heating plant. Installed capacity is 2.1 megawatts of electricity and 2.6 megawatts of heat. The investment is put at €2.5 million.
Cogeneration means power and heat from the same plant. For the northern arm of Skopje's heating system that is a local source, not an export plant. It is small beside the Shtip wind plans, but it sits in the city network, where winter is measured in radiators, not in megawatts on a slide.
TESSA Energy is part of the TESSA Group, which took over the plant in 2024. The start-up was announced on 12 September. Prime Minister Mickoski spoke at the event; that is political context, not proof that heat has already reached flats.
What the notices leave out
Not every report says how many buildings the new capacity will heat or at what price the heat enters the network. It is not clear whether this is steady running or a test start.
What remains open
