Mat Kiatipis Is Coming to Macedonia: 'Macedonia Takeover – MK in MK' Brings Basketball, Music and Cuisine to a Global Audience
From 10 to 15 August, world-renowned streetball performer Mat Kiatipis will take part in a six-day tour through Skopje, Kumanovo and Ohrid, aimed at promoting Macedonia to a global audience.
From 10 to 15 August 2026, Macedonia will host one of the most attractive sports-and-culture projects staged in the region, organised by Lolipop Entertainment Group. For the first time in the country, world-renowned streetball performer and one of the most influential basketball content creators globally, Mat Kiatipis (MK — MKIATIPS), will take part as the centrepiece of the six-day "Macedonia Takeover – MK in MK" tour.
The project brings together sport, music, culture, gastronomy and digital media in a single experience. Kiatipis is known for his spectacular basketball performances and the millions of views his social media content generates, alongside collaborations with some of the world's biggest brands — a position that makes him one of the most influential ambassadors of modern basketball and digital creator culture today.
Three Cities, Six Days of Content
The tour's main goal is to present Macedonia to a global audience through a globally recognised creator — as a country with rich culture, tradition, cuisine, music and hospitality. Over the six days, original content will be produced for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, with the potential to reach millions of organic views from audiences around the world.
The tour includes three public basketball events — in Skopje (12 August), Kumanovo (13 August) and Ohrid (14 August) — alongside a music production shoot, a music video production, visits to well-known Macedonian landmarks, and a presentation of Macedonian cuisine and wine tradition.
The Skopje event will be held in coordination with basketball club MZT Skopje, which marks 60 years of existence this year. The Kumanovo activities will run in partnership with MM Sport, while the Ohrid event will be supported through a partnership with Inex Olgica.
Expected Reach
Organisers expect more than 10,000 visitors across the three events, along with more than 5 million organic views of the content produced during the tour, further amplified through domestic and regional influencers and media.
The project is envisioned as the first of its kind in the country, with ambitions to grow into an annual international event that draws globally known creators and athletes to Macedonia.
