Idže Unveils New 'Norma' Prototype — First Balkan Driver in Hillclimb Racing's Top Class

European hillclimb racing champion Igor Stefanovski – Idže is opening a new chapter in his racing career. Following a string of European titles and numerous successes on hillclimb tracks, this season he will compete with a "Norma" prototype — the most powerful and prestigious class in hillclimb racing. With this step, Stefanovski becomes the first driver from the Balkans to compete with such a prototype in official international races.

The unveiling and first test of the new car took place at Vodno — the place where Idže first began his racing career. The event was also attended by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, who said it was an honour to be part of the moment and to support one of the greatest ambassadors of Macedonian motorsport.

Only 12 Cars in the World

The Norma prototype represents the pinnacle of hillclimb racing engineering — built exclusively for competition, with an ultra-light chassis, an exceptional power-to-weight ratio, and aerodynamics tuned for maximum performance on the toughest mountain roads. Only 12 such cars have been built worldwide, making the acquisition exceptional not just for Stefanovski, but for the entire region.

"I'm entering a new category — it's time to measure myself against the best in hillclimb racing," Stefanovski said at the unveiling.

Chasing a New Title

The move to the prototype class puts Idže in direct competition with some of Europe's top hillclimb drivers, opening the way to new podiums and potentially a new European title in the discipline's highest category. For Macedonian motorsport, the step is being described as historic — not just a personal ambition for the driver, but a positioning of the country in the top tier of European hillclimb competition.
