The Supreme Court has overturned the final verdict in the 13 February 2019 Laskarci bus crash, in which 16 people died and dozens were injured. The case goes back for a new decision.
People already serving sentences linked to Durmo Tours are to be released while the trial is redone. The court did not declare them innocent. It held that the judgment cannot stand.
A Separate Case, Same Session
On the same 9 September criminal panel, the court separately quashed convictions against Stevcho Jakimovski and sent that file back to first instance — a different case entirely. After seven years, families of the dead are back at the start, and the exact operative part of the ruling and which prosecutorial approach follows are still to be confirmed.
