Macedonian Folk Ensemble Wins Two Awards at Brazil's Unofficial World Folklore Championship

Macedonian folk dance ensemble "Studio Folklor" returned home with two major honors from the international folklore festival in Nova Prata, Brazil — an event regarded as the unofficial world championship of folk dance.
With more than 45,000 votes cast from around the world, Studio Folklor won first place in the audience vote — a record, given that last year's winner in the same category collected around 7,000 votes.
A Nod From the Jury Too
The ensemble also placed third in the professional jury's scoring. The dancers came home not only with two awards, but with a wave of new admirers of Macedonian dance and tradition worldwide.
